Mechanical Drum
After looking at your peer's project parts, what constructive criticism can you offer? How do you think their project compares to yours and what do you like about both designs? How does your IMA compare to theirs?
You're drum is looking quite good! I like the design of the mallets as i feel it will be able to hit the drum fairly easily. However, I feel that the machine as a whole would work better if the "spindle parts" were slightly taller- the mallets might not end up being evenly spaced on the drum face. It looks really nice, and I can't wait to see how it turns out! -Deirdre D Block 4BD
I think it looks really good! I saw how you guys have decorated it so far and the duck tape is a nice touch. The mallet idea is eally good with the rubber bands but they may be very close together. The base you made on inventor also looks cool. -Pamela Merriman
I think the drum looks really good! I like the base you designed on inventor. It looks like it will work well with the crank to keep the drum in place and allow everything to move correctly. However, I feel only using four mallets on such short "spindles" may not be the best use of space on the larger drum. Isabelle 4B/D
I think the overall design looks great, but especially in the part with the pegs in the small spindle area it looks a little cramped. Perhaps if you added a little bit more space between the pegs it would help to a future problem with the spacing of the mallets. I know in our design, it would be very difficult to fit all of the mallets on a dowel if the pegs were that close together. -Michael Parrish
